Summary of the Role

Carnbrooke is a family-owned business, working from our facility in Lisburn operating a 2500 sq. ft Butchery & Food Hall and Food Service supplier to over 250 hotels and restaurants across NI. Due to continued expansion, we are now in the position to advertise for a Quality Assurance Assistant. We require a highly motivated individual to undertake the role of a QA Assistant to monitor all food safety and quality procedures throughout the production process all carried out on site in Lisburn. This will be in in line with company policies and in support of the quality team whilst also promoting and ensuring health and safety.

Main Duties:

  • Monitoring and carrying out checks throughout the on-site factory and kitchen, including CCPs and temperature
  • Accurately completing all required paperwork
  • Verify and check all production sheets
  • Enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene rules in the factory/kitchen environments
  • Investigate non-compliances and customer complaints, recording them appropriately and resolving issues identified. Manage relevant quality standards, e.g. HACCP to ensure food safety, statutory & Company standards are maintained.
  • Actively seek to reduce complaints throughout the company
  • Assess intake of goods to ensure they meet company specifications before moving into production
  • Assist in preparations of customer visits, third parts and internal audits
  • New developments and changes to customer requirements mean that processes and their associated tasks and functions do not remain static. In order to remain flexible, responsive and competitive, Carnbrooke Meats reserves the right to adapt roles and responsibilities in response to operational changes and there is a reasonable expectation of adaptation to new or modified working methods as required.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification in a food science related subject
  • Knowledge of HACCP and other quality management systems
  • Performance driven and customer oriented
  • Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills without compromise to food safety or quality

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance or a similar role
  • Qualifications in the areas of HACCP etc.
  • Knowledge of meat sector
  • Auditing experience
  • Experience working with EHO’s and other industry professionals.
