This all comes together with a defined feeding program, high herd health levels and reduced stress levels throughout the cattle’s rearing.

Omega-3 and Omega-6 have also been proven to protect against heart disease, arthritis, depression, Alzheimer’s, high blood pressure and have anticarcinogenic properties.

There are numerous factors that contribute to the pricing of Wagyu. The majority of these factors take into account the rearing and raising of Wagyu Cattle. Prolonged feedings times mean more time and resources are needed to allow the cattle to mature and fully marble. Ensuring a stress free environment also means that there is a specialised way for caring for the cattle that differs from normal farming techniques. Our local farmers look after our Wagyu cattle like kings from the moment they are born ensuring a happy, stress-free life in order to deliver the world’s best beef. The quality of early life nutrition, ensures the animals immune system is optimised at all times, promoting a high health status, which is also essential in keeping the meat tender and succulent.

The main point to be aware of is the difference in the fat content. The monosaturated marbling melts much quicker than usual saturated steak fat. Therefore, it must be kept in mind not to lose the marbling, resulting in a loss of that extra tenderness and flavour. Wagyu therefore best lends itself to be cooked to no more than a medium level of doneness. Yet our experts and chefs would suggest to each Wagyu to be eaten rare or medium-rare. It is also a good idea to let it sit at room temperature no longer than 15-20 minutes.
