Summary of the Role
With the opening of a second food hall in Dromore and continued success of our Lisburn food hall we now recruiting for an experienced retail assistant. The hours will be spread across the week but will include at least one evening and one weekend shift. We are flexible in our shift patterns which can be discussed at the interview process.
Our Retail Assistants; are a brilliant team of people at the core of our business. With customer focus the number one priority, our Retail Assistants are the first point of call for lending a helping hand. You could be assisting customers on tills, or just striking up a conversation in our food hall. Retail Assistants at Carnbrooke are always interacting with customers, ensuring they leave with exactly what they want and with a positive lasting impression.
Main Duties:
- Show a positive attitude and take responsibility for ensuring customers receive an excellent shopping experience
- Deal with all customer queries efficiently, professionally and consistent with store policy
- Merchandise shelves, ensuring that all areas of the store are presented to the highest standard
- Continuous monitoring of stock quality and freshness through stock rotation
- Engage with new initiatives and embrace new ways of working
- To provide excellent customer service
- To operate the till in line with company till operation and cash handling procedures
- To sell and demonstrate product knowledge by advising the customer/answering queries and suggesting products as part of the customer transaction
- Comply with all health and safety legislation
- To assist in stocktaking procedures
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs
- Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible
- Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Customer driven
- Previous customer service experience is an advantage
Desirable criteria:
- Previous retail & customer service experience, preferably in the grocery sector.
